How to Donate Your Car to
The ALS Association
Step 1: Provide Vehicle Information
Complete the donation form or call (888) 852-0305. We will ask you some questions about your vehicle including the year, make, and model.
Step 2: Schedule Free Car Pick Up
Let us know where your car will be picked up. A towing agent will call you within 2-3 business days to schedule a pick up time most convenient for you.
Step 3: Get Tax Receipt
After you submit the donation form, you will receive a confirmation email. This email will provide you with access to your Donor Console. The Donor Console will allow you to track the progress of your car donation, upload important documents, and learn more about tax deductions and title transfers. Within 30 days of the sale of your vehicle, you’ll be emailed a tax receipt.
Frequently Asked Questions
What types of vehicles can I donate?
The ALS Association happily accepts almost all car donations! We also accept trucks, motorcycles, boats, snowmobiles, trailers and recreational vehicles. Boats, planes, RVs, and trailers may require a call to see if they meet minimum criteria.
How long will it take for my vehicle to be picked up?
All donations will be processed as quickly as possible. A towing agent will contact you within 2-3 business days to arrange a pick up time.
What if I can’t find my title?
No worries! If you can’t find your title, you can apply for a duplicate title through your state. Visit the State Title Requirements page to find information on your respective state.
How do I know my title is clear and transferable?
There are a few requirements your title must meet to be considered clear and transferable:
- The title must be in your name, with no cross-outs or errors.
- All liens must be released. If your title has a lien listed, it must be signed off. Otherwise you must provide a lien release document.
- You, as the seller, must sign per our title instructions. Click here to find state-specific title instructions.
