Today, Car Donation Wizard is introducing you to Francisco, the 1995 Toyota Corolla! Francisco was donated to South Carolina’s ETV Radio through the Car Talk Vehicle Donation Program.
Francisco’s donors shared their story of the adventurous and reliable Toyota Corolla.
We bought ‘Francisco’ in 2006 after moving to Utah from the east coast. We had biked from Virginia to California and then taken a train to Utah. We were carless for two months and then bought this car from a woman whose son was selling it for her on Craigslist. It had 40,000 miles on it. When I told my friend James we had found the perfect car, a 1995 Corolla station wagon, he said (tongue in cheek) “Wow. How’d you score that sweet ride?”
Well, we never have won style points but we have moved to four different states and enjoyed countless picnics, camping adventures and trips to the dog park. This car has done everything-trekked to Glacier Park and Yellowstone and carried us safely while enduring screamed car seat protests from little ones. It has always been reliable, unassuming and cool in the nerdiest of ways.
