September is Baby Safety Month, a month dedicated to educating parents and caregivers on infant safety. The Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association works to inform parents on the safe selection and use of baby and toddler products available.
Baby Safety Tips:
- Keep your home and car smoke-free.
- Take your baby for regular medical checkups.
- Secure heavy furniture, such as dressers, chests, and bookshelves, to the wall in order to prevent toppling over.
Protect your baby from SIDS by putting the baby to sleep on his/her back on a flat surface, such as a crib or bassinet. Keep pillows, crib accessories, loose bedding, toys and other soft objects out of the baby’s crib. Register your car seat, as seats can be recalled for a variety of reasons. Registering your car seat is only way you’ll be reached by the manufacturer in the event of your product being recalled.
