On December 19, 2011, the United Nations General Assembly declared October 11 as the International Day of the Girl Child, to recognize girls’ rights and the challenges they face worldwide. International Day of the Girl 2021 promotes the empowerment of adolescent girls and the fulfilment of their human rights.
Last year’s campaign was “My voice, our equal future“ to encourage adolescent girls to use their voice and power to stand up for their rights. This year’s theme is “Digital Generation. Our Generation.”, an effort to pave the way for this generation of girls to become a generation of technologists.
How You Can Help:
- Share stories of adolescent girls who are technology trailblazers.
- Amplify commitments made by the Generation Equality Forum to address the gender digital divide.
- Donate your car to UNICEF USA, the United Nations humanitarian organization that has worked towards achieving gender equality in countries around the world.
UNICEF Car Donation
The United Nations Children’s Fund was established after WWII and continues to work in over 190 countries and territories. UNICEF has helped save more children’s lives than any other humanitarian organization. UNICEF provides vulnerable children with the support, services, and education they need to reach their full potential.
To help adolescent girls, UNICEF has ensured access to education and technology that will provide them with the training and experience necessary to further their economic empowerment. The organization has launched initiatives which help end child marriage, support menstrual health management, and deliver HIV and AIDS care.
Donating your car is an easy way to support any organization. Car Donation Wizard will return 75-80% of the gross proceeds from the sale of your vehicle to UNICEF. All car donations to UNICEF help fund the ability to create simple, affordable, and innovative solutions to child survival challenges.
Promote girls’ rights on this year’s International Day of the Girl by donating your car online or calling (855) 487-3863.
