Today, we’re taking a look at a Car Talk donation that has a special story. This 2007 Toyota Corolla was donated to The Summit through the Car Talk Vehicle Donation Program, where it will support community programming. The Toyota belonged to the donors’ parents who passed away in 2020. Read the heartwarming story below!
Mom and Dad’s Car
It’s great to finally get around to being able to donate Mom and Dad’s car. On a sad note, we lost both of them in 2020. On a great note, we had two beautiful people as our parents for 90 years. Mom and Dad were big believers in sharing. Although they had very little financially, they had an incredible amount of love for each other and the five of us. We used to laugh because we would give Mom and Dad something and they would give it to someone else who needed it more.
Back in 2007, they were in need of a car so I went out and took them car shopping and bought it for them for their 50th anniversary. They literally drove it to the store, church and family events, thus the 60k or so miles. They would have done the same exact thing as I am doing with donating it. The Summit has always been near and dear to [us] and it was an easy decision to send it your way and continue to support your mission. You have been beyond a God-send through COVID and we look forward again to Studio C! Keep up the great work!
