World Malaria Day is April 25. It is a day to raise awareness and promote the prevention and treatment of malaria. On this day, we want to spotlight a new charity partner that focuses on effective and affordable health solutions: PATH.
Malaria is a mosquito-borne disease that is alarmingly widespread: half the world’s population is at risk of malaria. Although malaria is both preventable and treatable, access to health infrastructure or information is not universal. Every year, approximately 400,000 people die from malaria. Progress is being made, though. Since 2000, malaria deaths have decreased by 60 percent. PATH has helped save over 6.2 million lives over the past 15 years.
PATH, Program for Appropriate Technology in Health, is a nonprofit that partners with governments, investors, and grassroots organizations. Health is complex and solving health crises requires collaboration and innovation. PATH works in over 70 countries across the world, bringing together investors and innovators.

PATH is working to control and eliminate malaria in high-burden countries, with the ultimate goal of eradication. They have partnered with technology companies, governments, and organizations to achieve these goals. The Center for Malaria Control and Elimination researches and develops vaccines, diagnostics, and drugs and attack the problem from every angle. They have partnered with the World Health Organization for the Zero Malaria Starts with Me grassroots campaign.
