WSHU has received support for its community programming through the donation of a 2006 Nissan Altima. The Nissan was donated through the Car Talk Vehicle Donation Program, where the proceeds from the sale of the vehicle will benefit programs like “Morning Edition”, “All Things Considered”, “Echoes”, “Sunday Baroque” and other WSHU programming.
The donor shared her vehicle story, explaining just how special her first car is to her.
As an immigrant coming to this country and owning a car was a very pride moment and this vehicle had stayed with me close to 14 years. On my first day of driving this car, I was going through stations to listen to music and came upon NPR (never heard of them before) and ever since that day I had never stopped listening to NPR. . . I even make my 6 year old daughter listen to it and she always says to me: why do you always listen to NPR and I tell her, “you will understand one day when you grow up.”
Ready to donate your car? Don’t forget to share your vehicle photos and stories with us! We love to feature our donor stories and selfies on our Facebook and Instagram pages.
