How do I release the liability of my donated vehicle in Georgia (GA)?

• The state of Georgia DOES NOT require a Certificate of Title in order to transfer ownership of vehicles 1985 and older. In this case the most recent registration and a Bill of Sale to Advanced Remarketing Services is sufficient.
• In order to complete your Georgia car donation, transfer your title by entering the name of our authorized agent, ADVANCED REMARKETING SERVICES in the buyer/purchaser field. Please PRINT and SIGN your name in the seller/owner field EXACTLY as it appears at the top of the title.
• Please surrender license plates and cancel registration with the state. You can also transfer plates to another vehicle via the GA Department. You can complete the online registration cancellation via your Georgia Drives E-Services account: https://eservices.drives.ga.gov/_/#1 You can also cancel registration in person by bringing a completed Form MV-18J to your local County Tag Office.
• Remember to remove your electronic toll collection system from your vehicle as well as removing the vehicle from the account when the vehicle is picked up.
