How do I release the liability of my donated vehicle in District of Columbia?

The District of Columbia DOES require a Certificate of Title in order to transfer ownership of your vehicle.
In order to complete your Washington DC car donation, transfer your title by entering the name of our authorized agent, ADVANCED REMARKETING SERVICES in the buyer/purchaser field. Please PRINT and SIGN your name in the seller/owner field EXACTLY as it appears at the top of the title.
Please remove your license plates from your vehicle and surrender them to the DC DMV or transfer to another vehicle.

Remember to remove your electronic toll collection system from your vehicle as well as removing the vehicle from the account when the vehicle is picked up.
